With its diverse forest and fascinating fauna, Gahanna Woods is a great place to explore, relax and learn. The area comprises over 100 acres of maple-beech-oak woods, hemlock stands, marshlands, and adjacent agricultural fields. The varied wildlife includes raccoon, white-tailed deer, fox, opossum, and an abundance of bird species. Furthermore, the preserve is home to numerous species of plant life and interesting geological features such as glacial kettles and outcrops.

 

Visitors to Gahanna Woods can enjoy various activities ranging from casual walks in the woods to hands-on experiential learning sessions. Expert naturalists lead educational tours seasonally through the winding paths of the forest and teach invaluable lessons about the area’s plant and animal populations.
