Gahanna’s Veterans Memorial is a central landmark in the town, paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. The memorial is represented by a life-size statue of a World War II soldier sitting atop a rock base. The statue is surrounded by the flags of all five military branches, the United States, Ohio, and Gahanna. The memorial also features five black marble panels with plaques honoring veterans from Gahanna and the surrounding area who gave their lives in service of the country. See here for information about Uncovering Gahanna's Hidden History with the Gahanna Historical Society.

Gahanna’s Veterans Memorial has become a popular destination for memorial services, particularly on holidays such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Each year, the city of Gahanna hosts a Memorial Day celebration at the site. The event consists of a memorial service, a 21-gun salute, and a flyover of the Memorial. These events remind us of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who served our nation.
