Paying Tribute to Those Who Served: Gahanna's Veterans Memorial
Gahanna, Ohio, is honored to have its own Veterans Memorial, a monument paying tribute to those who risked their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The Gahanna Veterans Memorial is located in the heart of Gahanna, Ohio, representing all veterans from Gahanna and surrounding areas. The memorial was established in 2004 and is a beautiful tribute to those who served so faithfully. Information can be found here.
Gahanna’s Veterans Memorial is a central landmark in the town, paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. The memorial is represented by a life-size statue of a World War II soldier sitting atop a rock base. The statue is surrounded by the flags of all five military branches, the United States, Ohio, and Gahanna. The memorial also features five black marble panels with plaques honoring veterans from Gahanna and the surrounding area who gave their lives in service of the country. Gahanna’s Veterans Memorial has become a popular destination for memorial services, particularly on holidays such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Each year, the city of Gahanna hosts a Memorial Day celebration at the site. The event consists of a memorial service, a 21-gun salute, and a flyover of the Memorial. These events remind us of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who served our nation.
